LAHORE: Punjab Government spokesman Zaeem Hussain Qadri said Friday that the government writ would be established at any cost and people’s rights would be protected.
Speaking to the media at DGPR office, he said: ‘The state is responsible for protection of life and property of every citizens and it will not allow the trouble-makers to besiege the Capital.’
He said that people are fed up with negative politics of Imran Khan and they had rejected his lockdown call for November 2.
‘We are the custodians of basic rights of people and all eyes are focused on us. Therefore, we will ensure law and order at all costs,’ he said.
Zaeem lambasted the PTI chief for creating anarchy through his repeated calls for agitation. ‘People do not want confrontational politics. Marches and sit-ins are aimed at hampering the development process and scare the foreign investors away from Pakistan,’ he added.
He said that those creating impediments in the way to national development and opposing people’s welfare projects were not sincere with the country.
The spokesman said that there was no justification for besieging Islamabad as the nation had already rejected it. He said the PML-N leadership always played politics of nobility and decency, but the PTI leader was using abusive and derogatory language for the party leadership.
Zaeem said a few PTI workers appeared on The Mall in the morning, chanted slogans and later disappeared while a tiny group of lawyers also gathered on The Mall and dispersed on seeing the public mood.
Regarding Imran Khan’s allegations against the Punjab chief minister, the spokesman said that he (Imran) must seek apology from the public for lying to the nation in 14 days otherwise they had the legal right to move the court. NNI
