No moral, legal justification for Nawaz to continue PM office after Afzal’s disclosures: Imran Khan

ISLAMABAD, Aug 25 (INP): Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan has said that there is no moral and legal justification for Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to continue his officer after startling disclosures of ex-additional secretary Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) Afzal Khan regard massive rigging in May 11, 2013 general elections.

Addressing the party activists attending the ?Azadi March? in red zone in front of the Parliament House on Monday, Imran Khan said that ex-official of ECP proved the rigging in elections and Afzal?s statement authenticated the PTI?s claims being repeatedly raised in media, courts and assemblies for the last 14 consecutive months.

He termed the general elections of last year as the most rigged ballot exercise in the political history of the country. ?Afzal Khan disclosed the actual number of punctures was not just 35 but runs in hundreds,? he said.

?Millions of ballots papers were printed just two days prior to general elections.??

The PTI chief said even Justice Kiyani admitted that during the last year?s elections the returning officers were not under the Election Commission.

He said that leaders of various political parties including PPP, PML-Q and others have admitted that May 11, election was the election of Returning Officers (ROs).

Khan alleged that rigging was pre-planned and ex-chief justice had played role in it which would be unveiled after further investigations were conducted.

He said that Prime Minister should quit as under him transparency in investigation into rigging could not be ensure.

Despite repeated demands of PTI for recounting in four constituencies, government used delaying tactics as it could unveil many figures involved in the illegal practice, he added.

Those who assisted ruling party in rigging elections were rewarded for their son?s services and appointed in various offices besides promotions.

Imran blamed that ruling party was spending huge some of money for organized pro-government rallies which could result in clash with protesting and incumbent government will be responsible in case of any lawlessness or chaos.

He said that PML-N wants use of power but his party didn?t want to clash with police.
