Rawalpindi (PR): Deputy Commissioner Tallat Mehmood Gondal has directed health department to improve their strategy in order to cope with the environmental sample which has proved positive in the area of Dhok Dalaal Khan and said that special focus should be paid for vaccination of travellers of Mandi Mor and adjacent areas. Age limit for vaccination of travellers needs to be enhanced to 40 years. He directed Health department to devise a fresh plan with new SOPs to cover updated targets keeping in view the readings of current census report and also the shortcomings and limitations of previous year. He said that special attention needs to be paid to the not available children and refusal cases. He said that active participation of parents is needed to make this campaign successful and furthermore directed to establish a monitoring mechanism for this campaign and order to submit daily report. DC also directed all allied departments to ensure the availability of committed human resource for this campaign and warned that under strict direction of Chief Sectary Punjab, no lethargy in this campaign will be tolerated.
He expressed these thoughts while presiding over a meeting organized by Health department regarding Anti-Polio campaign. Chief Executive Officer Health Authority Muhammad Sohail Ahmed Chaudhry, District Officer Health Dr. Abdul Jabbar, Dr. Uzma Hayat coordinator WHO, Dr Amir Sheikh, Dr Ujala, Dr Sarwat, AC Murree Arif Ullah Awan, AC Goujar Khan Mehreen Fahim, AC Kahuta Ansar Hayat, AC Cant Amber Gillani, DDHOs, representative of Allied departments and other concerned officers were also present in the meeting.
Sharing details of arrangement for Anti-Polio Campaign to be started from 12 February to 16 February 2018, CEO health Muhammad Sohail Ahmed Chaudhry said that a target to vaccinate 08 Lac 40 Thousand children of below age five have been fixed for which 221 UC MOs and 496 Area-incharge have been appointed. Moreover, 2333 Mobile Teams and 287 Fixed Points and 119 Transit Points have been established. CEO health further added that total 2739 teams have been designated for this task and health officer will monitor the progress of campaign and security of polio workers is arranged as well. He said that refusal cases recorded were 1624 out of which 1362 have been covered so far.
