ISLAMABAD: Discrimination in allocating funds and building roads for the trade routs under mega project of Chin Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) could escalate sense of deprivation among residents of other provinces.

This was exposed by Dr. Jehanzeb Jamaldini of Balochistan National Party (BNP-M) in an exclusive interview in a popular program of Roze TV ‘Analysis with Asif’ on Thursday. He said that according to the reports, National Highway Authority (NHA) was ignoring road projects in Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Sindh while those in Punjab were being timely completed.

He said that people of small provinces are already suffering with sense of discrimination and behaviour of NHA could make things more severe. He also said that people would talk about the fact that Chairman of NHA belongs to Punjab and such allegation on the working of NHA can make things more complicated. He said that CPEC is being considered a game changer in the region, now this mega project must not be dealt with discrimination.

It has been reported that Chairman of Senate Standing Committee on Communication Daud Achakzai has shown displeasure over officials of NHA for hiding facts to share details of CPEC. Dr.Jehanzeb disclosed that Senator Taj Haider has written a letter to Prime Minister to regarding details of CPEC but he has not received any response. He said that it is the need of time to take action against a sad state of affairs of NHA; it is beyond sense that NHA officials are not taking affairs of Senate Standing Committees seriously, yet no actions has been taken against NHA.
