ISLAMABAD:

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has decided to train and conduct refresher courses for the immigration staff deputed at the Islamabad International Airport (IIA) and other airports of the country to identify fake traveling documents and increase their capacity.

The FIA Islamabad Director Waqar Chauhan has issued orders to retrain the immigration staff at IIA, officials said on Friday.

He made a round of IIA on Friday and inspected the immigration process at the time of arrival and departure of various international flights.

IIA Deputy Director Immigration Atif Akram briefed the director about the facilities in the immigration area. Furthermore, Chauhan said that it must be ensured that deportees from abroad are treated in accordance with existing regulations.

He warned the staff to take strict action against the officers, airline staff, and other government department officials involved in corruption. The director further directed the immigration officials at IIA to conduct training and refresher courses on improving the performance of immigration officers.
