New security system introduced in Rawalpindi to check crimes

RAWALPINDI: Waking up over increasing crimes in Rawalpindi city, the Police has introduced a new system to improve the security situation.  The police has discontinued the Mohafiz patrol system and instead they have been deployed at checkposts at the entry and exit points and important crossings.

According to details, under the revised plan 650 additional policemen have been posted who would perform duty during the general hold up.

City Police officer Israr Ahmad Abbasi said the security plan has been revised in view of the increasing crime rate.  He said that 650 new recruits who are waiting for turn of training have also been put at check points that would increase the sense of police presence in different areas.

The police would check the suspected vehicles, motorcycles and individuals at the check points and take immediate action on any suspected activity.

He said a detailed survey of squares, crossings and streets was carried out before implementation of the plan to ensure presence of police at all the sites.
