Islamabad: The prices of 18 essential commodities increased in the country during a week.
The Federal Bureau of Statistics released weekly inflation data, according to which an increase in the prices of 18 essential commodities was recorded during a week. According to the report, moong dal became expensive by 2.56 percent during a week. Five liters of cooking oil became expensive by 1.56 percent, sugar by 1.23 percent, ghee, bread, garlic, firewood are among the items that became expensive.
The report of the Bureau of Statistics states that the rate of inflation has come down to 1.90 percent on an annual basis and the prices of 10 commodities decreased during a week, while the prices of 23 commodities remained stable.
Last week, the price of tomatoes per kilogram decreased by 31.40 percent, while potatoes became cheaper by 10.36 percent. Eggs became cheaper by 5.96 percent and gram lentils became cheaper by 1.64 percent in a week. Apart from these, onions, rice, and dal mash are also among the items that are becoming cheaper.
