ISLAMABAD: Providing further relief to the masses, the National Power Regulatory Authority on Thursday approved a reduction of Rs 4.42 per unit in electricity rates under the monthly fuel adjustment plan.
It was reported that distribution companies saved more than Rs25 billion during the month of February.
In February, 33% electricity was generated through furnace-oil based plants, 34% hydel power plants and 29% electricity was generated from gas-based plants.
The tariff cut will not apply to K-Electric and lifeline consumers using less than 50 units per month.
