NDMA begins assessment of Flood damages

ISLAMABAD (NNI):National Disaster Management Authority has initiated work on Multi Initial Rapid Assessment for flood affected districts in collaboration with the UN System.

In a statement the authority said, the assessment would be carried out in most of affected districts including Mandi Bahauddin, Hafizabad, Chiniot, Jhang and Multan as identified by the Provincial Disaster Management Authority Punjab.

The main purpose of the assessment is to identify damages to the community infrastructure, recovery needs & restoration requirements.

National Disaster Management Authority would coordinate with Provincial Disaster Management Authority Punjab in carrying out this assessment. The assessment report will be finalized jointly by NDMA and United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs.
