Flays PM’s silence over Indian shelling, drone strikes
ISLAMABAD: Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan, Tuesday night said that he was sure of general elections in the year 2015.
“Elections will be held early next year. Nothing can stop ‘Naya (new) Pakistan’ from coming into being,” said Imran Khan while talking to a private TV channel. Elections would be announced in a month or two, Imran Khan added reassuringly.
To a question, he said the reason Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was not stepping down was purely business-oriented and not political. “Sharif is not resigning because he is afraid of losing his vested business interests,” the PTI leader alleged.
Imran Khan pointed out the prime minister had not uttered even a single word of condemnation against Indian border security forces’ blatant violations of ceasefire along the Line of Control in Charwah sector.
“Indian shelling/firing has killed at least 10 Pakistanis, but Nawaz Sharif is mum as if they were citizens of another country,” Imran said demanding of Nawaz Sharif to prove he was the prime minister of Pakistan.
He said why Nawaz Sharif, who would occasionally speak against US drone attacks during Zardari’s tenure, was silent now.
The PTI chief claimed that Pakistan has seen a decline in US drone strikes owing to sit-ins. INP
