LAHORE: Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif left for London on Wednesday morning to meet his ailing wife.
Nawaz will reach London via flight EK-625 of a private airline, and is expected to stay there for ten days. Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) will also conduct a rally in west London during his visit.
The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader will be abroad with his wife, sons and grandsons during Eid. Begum Kulsoom Nawaz, the wife of PML-N leader, is reportedly under treatment for throat cancer.
Sources have revealed that doctors are waiting for the results of some important skin and other tests of Kulsoom Nawaz, and her chemotherapy will begin by the end of this week or the start of next.
Kulsoom is PML-N’s nominated candidate for NA-120 after the seat fell vacant following Nawaz’s disqualification and ouster from PM office on Supreme Court’s July 28 verdict.
Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif accompanied the former prime minister at the airport.Others to bid him farewell were Senator Asif Kirmani and PML-N leaders from Lahore.
