The national airline PIA has provided an explanation for the advertisement that was trolled on social media. According to the international news agency AFP, PIA spokesperson Abdullah Khan said in a conversation that unfortunately the relationship and impression of this advertisement was linked to something that was not its intention in any way.
The spokesperson said that the advertisement was presented in a way that created negative emotions, for which we sincerely apologize.
The spokesperson of the national airline added that there were about 6,000 to 7,000 negative reactions to this advertisement post, which is less than 10 percent of the total reactions.
The spokesperson added that the majority appreciated the restoration of the national airline’s direct flights to Paris and gave positive reactions, which was the original purpose of the advertisement.
It should be remembered that when this post became a joke on social media, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar said that the Prime Minister has ordered an investigation into this advertisement, which shows a stupidity.

It should be noted that the January 10 advertisement post on PIA’s official social media accounts stated that direct flights to Paris were now being restored. The image shared with this announcement shows a PIA plane flying towards the Eiffel Tower, with a faint glimpse of the Paris flag in the background.
However, the red color of the flag is slightly prominent and in this part the plane is seen flying towards the Eiffel Tower as if it will hit the tower at any time.
Social media users did not like this advertisement much. When the plane’s proximity to the Eiffel Tower was linked to images of the 9/11 attacks, someone demanded the dismissal of the marketing team.
One user wrote, “Is this (an) advertisement or a threat?” Another commented that I would like to speak to the head of your marketing department. Another social media user wrote that PIA should dismiss its social media team.
