ISLAMABAD: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Pervaiz Rashid has said that we are striving for a country where the sorrows and happiness of the common man be acknowledged at state level.
He was addressing a ceremony in memory of the Peshawar tragedy at Pakistan National Council of the Arts in Islamabad Sunday.
The Information Minister said that our sorrows and happiness have never been acknowledged and represented at the official level.
He also visited the exhibition titled “massacre of the innocents”. He said the exhibition is the reflection of the sacrifices of the precious lives in the war against terrorism in the country.
Talking to media after the ceremony, the Information Minister said that the nation is committed to uproot the menace of terrorism from the country.
To a question, he said that every possible step will be taken to stop terrorism in the country and make Pakistan safe and peaceful. He said that all the internal and external threats will be dealt accordingly with iron hands.
To a question about China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, he said that no change has been made in the route of the corridor till the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding in this regard.
He said the three routes will pass through all the four provinces and Gilgit-Baltistan. He said that Prime Minister has constituted a Parliamentary Committee to oversee the project and address the grievances if any.
Responding to another question, Pervaiz Rashid said the objections raised by Imran Khan at different forums have not been proved true.
He said Imran Khan has not presented any proof in any tribunal or court in support of his allegations.
Pervaiz Rashid said that we should promote the culture of tolerance and peace. NNI
