Nation, armed forces observe Defence Day with great zeal

At Mehfoozabad, old Pind Malkan, Brigadier Tarique Quaider laid a floral wreath at the Grave of Lance Naik Muhammad MehfoozShaheed and offered fateha. Lance Naik Muhammad Mehfooz embraced Shahadat while defending the motherland at Atari, Wagha border in 1971.

Brigadier Shah Nawaz laid a floral wreath at the Grave of Sawar Muhammad HussainShaheed at Dhoke Muhammad Hussain near Gujar Khan and offered fateha. Sawar Muhammad Hussain Shaheed embraced Shahadat while defending the motherland at Zafarwal Sector in 1971.

Brig MudassirAzam laid a floral wreath at the grave of Captain Kernal Sher Khan shaheed who was awarded Nishan-e-Haider for his valour and bravery in Kargil war.

Major General Asim Munir, Commander FCNA laid floral wreath at the grave of HavildarLalikJan ShaheedNishan-e-Haider.

A ceremony was held to lay floral wreath at Nikyal sector to pay homage to Nike SaifullahJanjua shaheed (Hilal-i-Kashmir equivalent to Nishan-e-Haider). Brigadier Talib Zafar Dar laid floral wreath at his grave.

Display of military equipment and weapon for general public was arranged at all major Garrisons of the country. In this connection an exhibition was arranged at Army Aviation Qasim Base Dhamial Rawalpindi.

An impressive change of guards’ ceremony was held at the mausoleums of the Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah in Karachi on the occasion of Defence Day.

Smartly turned out contingents of PAF Risalpur Academy cadets took charge of guard of the tomb. Air Vice Marshal Asim Zaheer was the chief guest on the occasion.

He inspected guard of honour and laid floral wreath on Mazar of the founder of the nation and Fateha was offered for his departed soul.

Another ceremony was held at Mazar-e-Iqbal in Lahore in connection with the Defence Day.

The Garrison Commander, Major General Amir Abbasi laid floral wreath at the Mazar on behalf of the Pakistan Army to pay homage to the poet philosopher Allama Dr. Muhammad Iqbal who conceived the idea of a separate homeland Pakistan for the Muslims of sub-continent. He also offered fateha for the departed soul.INP
