RAWALPINDI, Jan 16 (INP): Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif has said that National Action Plan (NAP) is comprehensive enough to address extremism, terrorism on long term basis and government is doing its best for its complete implementation.

In message on social media website ‘Tweeter’ on Friday, General Raheel Sharif said that operation Zarb-e-Azb is making good progress. He said that no one among the militants is ‘favourite’ and terrorists of all kinds were being targeted without any discrimination.

The Army Chief said that relations with new Afghan government are improving as it has pledged for cooperation in the ongoing operation against extremists and joint efforts for restoration of peace and stability in the region.

He said that longstanding Kashmir dispute needed to be resolved in the larger interests of the stake holders and regional peace but not at the cost of dignity and honour of the country.

Gen Raheel Sharif urged the international community to understand varying circumstances and environment in the region.

He said that Pakistan is extending all sort of cooperation to UK in security and social sectors, adding it should also help in dignified resettlement of Temporarily Displaced People (TDPs) due to military operation against terrorists.
