LAHORE: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has approved a probe into cases against Rana Mashood, former prime minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf and the Water and Power secretary.

The decision was made during a meeting of the NAB Executive Board held here on Thursday.

Former PM Raja Pervez Ashraf faces the charges of corruption in the rental power projects.

The NAB Executive Board has also approved a probe into anomalies in the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Okara Bypass.

Meanwhile, NAB Punjab has galvanized into action and began garnering evidences against Provincial Education Minister Rana Mashood for his alleged involvement in corruption and financial embezzlement in the Punjab Youth Festival.

NAB raided Punjab Sports Board and seized all the records. The NAB also received complaints against the minister for his alleged role in financial irregularities in the PYF.

Sources in the Punjab government informed that provincial government could seek resignation from its minister if NAB inquiry kicks off against him.

The minister, however, has denied allegations against him and said he would take legal action against Malik who plundered millions of rupees from people through deceptive means.
