ISLAMABAD : The Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser has directed SNGPL to ensure uninterrupted gas supply to the domestic consumers during forthcoming winter season. He also directed for completion of gas development schemes in constituencies of Members of the National Assembly in KPK and Punjab within stipulated timeline. The Speaker passed these directions in a meeting with Managing Director Amir Tufail, who called on him in Islamabad Friday. The Speaker said that Pakistan was facing energy shortage specially gas during winters, however, in case of gas load shedding, the domestic consumers may be taken care of. He said that if continued supply of required material specially the gas meters for the ongoing gas development schemes would ensure their early completion. He observed that government was focusing on creating enabling environment for strengthening industrial Base of the country. He said that Pakistan by virtue of its geo strategic location, focus of major international investors was on Pakistan. That keenness to invest in industrial sector should match the pace provision of power for the industrial sector. He said that Pakistan would become major economic hub after the operational of industrial projects under the umbrella of CPEC. The Managing Director apprised the Speaker about the ongoing Sui gas projects in KPK and Punjab provinces. He informed that work on all the schemes would be completed within stipulates timelines for which funds have been allocated and released. He informed that SNGPL was upgrading its pipeline network to coil up with the rapid industrialisation taking place in Industrial areas in the provinces especially Export processing zones.
