ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly Standing Committee on Cabinet Secretariat meeting in Parliament House expressed its strong displeasure over the passive attitude of CDA and other concerned authorities as they failed to stop the mushroom growth of illegal Housing Societies and Kachi Abbadis inIslamabad
The Standing Committee on Cabinet Secretariat met under the Chairmanship of Rana Muhammad Hayat Khan, MNA to discuss the issue of Illegal Housing Societies & Kachi Abaddies of Islamabad and action taken by CDA in this regard.
The Committee was of the view that rapid growth of illegal Housing Societies and Kachi Abbadies was not possible without the involvement of CDA officials and directed that CDA may identify the black sheep in their department and take stern action against them.
The Committee also directed that CDA may provide the detail of action initiated by the present management of CDA during the last 18 months against the responsible for providing shelter to illegal Housing Societies and Kachi Abbaides by all means. The Committee decided to discuss the said issue with NAB, FIA, IESCO, SNGPL and ICT on 17th June, 2015 so that concrete measures may be adopted against the illegal Housing Societies and Kachi Abbadies
Earlier, Chairman, CDA briefly apprised the Committee about the action taken against illegal Hosing Societies & Kachi Abbadies and problems faced by them in this regard. He was of the view that CDA was unable to handle the issue lonely without the support of other stake holders.
Ms. Parveen Masood Bhatti, Ms. Nighat Parveen Mir, Ms. Shahnaz Saleem, Mrs. Seema Mohiuddin Jameeli, Pir Shafqat Hussain Jilani, Syed Ali Raza Abidi, Dr. Marheen Razaq Bhutto, Nafeesa Inayatullah Khan Khattak, Moulvi Agha Muhammad and Muhammad Rehan Hashmi attended the meeting.
