Mustang; Bomb blast near school, 7 people including children died

QUETTA: As a result of a bomb blast near a school in Mastung district of Balochistan, 7 people including 5 children were killed and more than 10 were injured.

According to the security officials, a police vehicle including a van of school children came under the blast, the bomb disposal squad and the district administration reached the spot.

SDPO Mian Dad Imrani has said that the explosives were installed in the motorcycle which was remote controlled, 1 policeman, 5 school children and 7 people including girls were killed in the blast. Between 5 and 10 years old, 4 police personnel are also included in the injured, the police vehicle, school van and rickshaws were damaged in the blast.

It is reported that 13 people have been injured in the blast, most of them children, and the injured have been shifted to DHQ and Ghous Bakhsh Raisani Hospital.

Health Minister Balochistan Bakht Mohammad Kakar and Secretary Health Balochistan Mujibur Rahman have imposed emergency in Civil Hospital, BMC Hospital Quetta and Trauma Center.

Spokesperson of the provincial government has asked the Balochistan Home Department for a report on the incident.

Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti condemned the explosion in Mustang and expressed his grief to the martyred policemen and the relatives of the innocent children.

Mir Sarfraz Bugti said that the terrorists have now targeted innocent children along with poor laborers, the humanitarian incident is condemnable. According to the hospital sources, five injured of the Mustang blast have been transferred to Quetta, one of them is in critical condition. While two were injured, two were broken, after which the number of people killed in the Mustang explosion increased to seven.

According to the hospital sources, among the 11 injured in the Mustang blast, five of them are in critical condition and are being given medical assistance.

Provincial Health Minister Bakht Muhammad Kakar visited the trauma center and directed to provide immediate and better medical facilities to the people injured in the Mustang blast.

The provincial minister said that the operation theaters of trauma center and civil hospital are ready, more doctors have arrived for medical assistance.
