KARACHI: After threatening slogans were painted across walls in Karachi on Monday, an angered CM Sindh ordered IG Sindh and DG Rangers to take strict action against those who committed the offence.
Murad Ali Shah directed IG Sindh and DG Rangers to find out who had put up slogans promoting hate and terror in the metropolis and urged them to take action against the perpetrators. He informed the concerned authorities to inform him when action is taken against the elements who painted the threatening slogans.
IG Sindh AD Khawaja stated that painting slogans across Karachi was an attempt to sabotage the peace of the province.
The slogans, which read in Urdu “Jo Quaid Ka Ghaddar Hai Vo Maut Ka Haqdar Hai” were apparently signed by ‘lovers’ of MQM founder Altaf Hussain. Last week, posters of Altaf Hussain were also removed from Azizabad and Mukka Chowk in Karachi.
Altaf Hussain was disowned by MQM’s senior leader Farooq Sattar after he had made an incendiary speech against Pakistan in which he incited his supporters to attack a private news channel’s office. Following his speech, scores of MQM supporters stormed ARY News’ office in Sadar and vandalized it.
