ISLAMABAD: Opposition members in the National Assembly Thursday strongly criticised the government for not taking the house into confidence about the death of Taliban leader Mullah Omer.
Speaking on points of order the members said that the whole world is reacting over the reported death of Mullah Omer but the government, foreign office and interior ministry are keeping mum on the matter. They said that the Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan who had attended the proceedings for some time must have informed the members about the facts.
They accused that the government was not giving any importance to the parliament and important decisions are being taken behind closed doors. They also demanded that the NA session should be adjourned and members sent to the flood affected areas for relief work.
MQM member Rashid Godil said the Prime Minister did not respond to the Indian allegations of Pakistan’s involvement in Gurdaspur terrorist act. Similarly the government is silent on the death of Mullah Omer.
PTI’s Shirin Mazari said the interior Minister must have given a policy statement on the death of Mullah Omer. She said parliament is being ignored while reaction of Afghan government and United States was before every one.
