LAHORE: Opener Mukhtar Ahmed was the star of the show as Pakistan beat Zimbabwe by five wickets. Mukhtar smashed a 45 ball 83 to proper Pakistan to victory. The Sialkot born batsman put his flamboyant opening partner Ahmed Shehzad in the shade with his brutal innings that made the sizeable Zimbabwe total a formality for Pakistan. The 22-year old had made his debut against Bangladesh recently and had played just a single international game before the match. His 83 runs knock included 12 boundaries and three monstrous sixes. Fans were anticipating a century as Mukhtar kept pounding the Zimbabwe bowlers but was finally dismissed for 82 attempting a six over long on. But by then his knock had all but sealed the win for Pakistan
