NAWABSHAH: Rangers have arrested a sector in-charge of Mutahidda Qaumi Movement from Nawabshah during wee hours of Sunday morning.

The paramilitary force personnel raided a house in Issur Pura area in Nawabshah and nabbed MQM’s former UC Nazim and current sector in-charge Dr. Naeem. He was taken to undisclosed location for interrogation. The Rangers also removed banners inscribed with appeals to people seeking hides of sacrificial animals in the city.

Sources informed that Dr. Naeem was arrested ahead of Eid on suspicion of task given to him by the party to collect hides.

Meanwhile, five bandits were arrested by the police in injured condition after an encounter. SP Khairpur said the police patrolling party was going through One Unit area when bandits opened fire on them. In retaliatory fire, five of the dacoits were injured and later arrested.

Heavy cache of weapons was recovered from the criminals who were required to police in several cases including abduction for ransom and murders. NNI
