LAHORE/ SIALKOT: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) district Vice President Bao Muhammad Anwar was killed in Shahabpur Road here on Wednesday.
According to police sources, Bao Anwar was standing outside his restaurant along with his son and brother when unidentified armed men riding a motorcycle opened fire, killing him on the spot. Two employees of the restaurant identified as Muneer and Younus were also wounded in the shooting incident
Meanwhile, Chief Minister of Punjab Shahbaz Sharif has taken a notice of suspicious murder of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) district Vice President Bao Muhammad Anwar in Sialkot. He ordered District Police Officer (DPO) Sialkot to submit the report as soon as possible. He further directed to arrest the culprits for interrogation.
Shahbaz Sharif also spoke to Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad expressing his grief over the tragedy.
Meanwhile, MQM Chief Altaf Hussain has strongly condemned killing of Bao Anwar and demanded Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar to apprehend the assailants.
