KARACHI: In protest against Karachi operation and reservations over minus-Altaf formula, the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) parliamentarians have decided to resign from their seats on Wednesday.
The decision was taken during MQM Coordination Committee meeting simultaneously held in London and Karachi on late Tuesday night.
MQM chief Altaf Hussain endorsed the decision of resigning from Senate, National Assembly and Sindh Assembly. He said that no one was listening to his party members genuine grievances.
According to sources, the MQM parliamentarians will tender their resignation in different phases.
In first phase, that MQM members of the National Assembly have handed over their resignations to Farooq Sattar on Wednesday morning.
He will submit the resignations in Assembly secretariat later today.
The MQM has 24 seats in the National Assembly, 51 seats in the Sindh Assembly and eight seats in the Senate.
