MQM urges Inqalab marchers to remain peaceful
ISLAMABAD, Aug 17 (INP): MQM leader Hyder Abbas Rizvi Sunday called on participants of the Inqalab March to maintain complete calm during their ongoing anti-government sit-in in Islamabad.
Addressing the participants of sit-in, Rizvi said it is responsibility of the incumbent government to save the situation from getting out of hands. “We should avoid the repeat of Model Town tragedy,” he stressed.
He said MQM has always supported Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT). “We had no major differences in the past also,” he added. Earlier, MQM Rabita Committee members paid a visit to the venues of the protest sit-ins of PAT and PTI and distributed food items among the workers of the two parties on the directives of MQM Quaid Altaf Hussain.
MQM Rabita Cimmittee members, Haider Abbas Rizvi, Rashid Godel and Aslam Afridi distributed food items including juice, biscuits and thousands of bottles of mineral water among the workers and supporters of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), who are on protest sit-ins for the last two days in Islamabad. The participants of the sit-ins thanked the leadership of MQM for their friendly and brotherly gestures. Rabita Committee members said that Altaf Hussain was highly concerned for the welfare of Revolution and Azadi Marches participants.
