MQM defer decision to join Sindh government: Sources

ZARDARIZardari vows to support MQM in ‘tough time’

KARACHI: Co-chairperson of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Asif Ali Zardari telephoned Sindh Governor Dr. Ishratul Ibad on Thursday evening and discussed current political issues including prevailing turmoil after confession of death row prisoner Saulat Mirza against MQM.

During the conversation, Zardari, former president of Pakistan, said the PPP stood by MQM in this testing time. “We believe in reconciliation policy and will continue doing so.” Zardari said PPP will move along MQM to serve people of Sindh.

Meanwhile, sources told that MQM had deferred the decision to join Sindh government, for the time being. MQM is of the view that fabricated cases were being lodged against the party and resolved to fight all such cases to prove innocence.
