Most parts of country experiencing severe cold

ISLAMABAD, Dec 22 (INP): Most parts of the country are in the grip of severe cold forcing the people to stay in door or go out for minimum time. The load shedding and gas shortage have added to the miseries of the people as they are unable to keep their stoves and heaters on.

The minimum temperature recorded today was -8C in Gupis Kalat-7, Skardu-5, Dir, Astore, Parachinar, Gilgit-3, Hunza, Chitral, Malamjabba-2, Drosh, Zhob-1 and Quetta 0 Centigrade.

Federal capital Islamabad recorded the minimum temperature of 3C, Murree 2, Faisalabad, Lahore 4, Multan 5, Hyderabad 9 and Karachi 10 centigrade.

The Meteorological department has forecast very cold and dry weather on Tuesday in most parts of the country. However, light rain (light snow over the hills) is expected at isolated places in Malakand division, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir and adjoining hilly areas.

Dense foggy conditions would continue in Gujranwala, Lahore, Faisalabad and Sahiwal divisions, while foggy in Sargodha, Rawalpindi, Multan, Bahawalpur, D.G Khan, Peshawar, D.I Khan and Sukkur divisions during night & morning hours.

According to the forecast, there is no possibility of rain during the week.
