Every govts promised but failed to live up to their words
LAHORE: Ameer, Jamaat e islami Sirajul Haq has said that the missing persons issue was a blot on the face of a democratic society adding that if the accused had committed any crime, they should be produced before the courts.
Talking to the media after going around a camp set up by the missing persons’ relatives in Islamabad, he appealed to PM and the CJP to realize the sensitivity of the issue and listen to the cries of the missing persons. Chairperson, Defense of Human Rights, Begum Amina Masud Janjua, received the JI chief at the camp.
Siraj said as a Muslim and a democrat, he was ashamed that all his efforts for the recovery of the missing persons had not yielded any result. He said that the mothers and the sisters of the missing persons had been knocking at different doors but in vain.
The JI chief said that the Nawaz Sharif intended to go for Hajj, and added that before that, the PM should arrange the recovery of the missing persons to earn the prayers of their near and dear ones.
He said that the nation had struggled hard for the restoration of the former CJP, with the expectation that the rights of the people would be secure in the country. However, he said, they people had been disappointed.
Speaking on the occasion, Begum Amina Masud Janjua said she had cases of more than two thousand missing persons. She said that all the previous -governments had assured her of resolving the issue but the issue had not been resolved till today.
