Srinagar (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyet Conference Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has said that the APHC is going to hold a detailed discussion on a recent proposal put forth by the veteran Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani, to carry forward the liberation movement in a more united and coordinated manner.
Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in a media interview in Srinagar said, “In the next APHC Executive Council meeting, we are going to have a detailed discussion on unity call given by Gilani Sahib.”
Agreeing with Syed Ali Gilani’s views, the Mirwaiz said, greater unity has become need of the hour in view of hardline approach of Modi government in India. “Modi government has made its intentions clear to divide Kashmir on communal lines. I think it is right time for Hurriyet leaders to come on a common platform and formulate a joint strategy to counter the rigid policies of New Delhi,” he added.
The Mirwaiz said that the Executive Committee would discuss all the parameters set by the veteran leader to formulate a joint strategy vis-à-vis Kashmir freedom struggle. “It is important that all APHC members should reach a consensus before taking any decision,” he said.
Syed Ali Gilani had said that the greater unity would be forged among those Hurriyet leaders and organizations, who would not take part in dialogue process with New Delhi under the Indian constitution. The forum led by the veteran Hurriyet leader and the Hurriyet Conference Jammu and Kashmir have already formed committees to work out a joint strategy to tackle the dangerous policies of Modi government regarding the Kashmir dispute.
