ISLAMABAD: The first Cloud Policy of the country, formulated by the Ministry of IT and Telecommunication, is greatest milestone achieved by Pakistan and efforts are being made to connect the country to rest of the globe, said Federal Minister for IT and Telecommunication Syed Aminul Haque.
Addressing the Pakistan Cloud Summit 2022 on Friday, he appreciated Prime Minister Imran Khan for introducing the Digital Pakistan vision and making efforts to fulfill it.
Underscoring the need for exploration and investment in the information technology, the minister said that after achieving the milestone of implementing 4G all across the nation, the focus of his ministry would turn towards 5G.
“Transformation of the country towards industrial and information technology based economy will not only boost growth but also steer job creation,” he said.
The performance of the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication has been outstanding for the past three years despite the dent endured by Pakistan due to outbreak of Covid-19.
He added that the ministry invested over Rs57 billion on connectivity.
Addressing the Summit, Federal Secretary of Information Technology and Telecommunications Muhammad Suhail Rajput said that world was moving rapidly towards transformation of IT and IT services hence Pakistan’s agrarian economy should be evolved into IT based economy.
