ISLAMABAD: Minister of the State for Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD) Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry taking notice of the water shortage in various sectors of Islamabad suspended the Director General (DG) Federal Water Management Cell (FWMC) over negligence.

Minister CADD Tariq Fazal Chaudhry on Friday took strict notice of complaints and media reports regarding severe water shortage in different areas of the federal capital making the life of citizens miserable in intense hot weather. He suspended the DG FWMC over negligence and failure to ensure smooth supply of water.

The State Minister CADD directed FWMC to remain alert and keep the complaint cells in sectors of the Capital functional round the clock.

Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry also directed to increase the number of water supply tankers, making all the tube wells operational and ensure smooth supply of water to citizens of Islamabad especially during the holy month of Ramadan.
