Minister says all religions have equal rights as par Quaid’s vision

LAHORE (NNI): Provincial Minister for Minorities Affairs & Human Resource Khalil Tahir Sindhu has said that in accordance with the vision of Quaid-e-Azam, followers of all religions have equal rights in Pakistan and are playing an active role in national development without any discrimination.

He was addressing a special function held in connection with World Minorities Day at Korean Church Youhana Abad, here today. Senator and Federal Minister for Ports and Shipping Kamran Michael, Allama Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi, Assembly Members representing minorities and large number of followers of various religions were present in the function.

The participants of the function were carrying national flags. Khalil Tahir Sindhu said that followers of all religions played their due role in the creation of Pakistan and they are still working vigorously for the progress and prosperity of the country as patriotic citizens. He said that minorities have deep love for Pakistan and have rendered invaluable sacrifices for the country.

Khalil Tahir Sindhu also referred to the measures taken by the Punjab government for the welfare of minorities. He said that it is need of the hour that all citizens of the society should dedicate their energies for progress of the country as well as keep a watchful eye on anti-nation elements. He said that on Independence Day the pledge to make Pakistan a strong, prosperous and peaceful country should be renewed and no effort should be spared for this purpose.

The function was also addressed by Senator Kamran Michael, Allama Tahir Mahmood Asharafi and others who underscored the importance of religious harmony and solidarity. The speakers paid rich tributes to the minorities for their services for the progress of the country. Later, the participants of the function prayed for national stability and progress.
