RAWALPINDI, Nov 21 (INP): Commissioner Rawalpindi Captain Rtd Zahid Saeed has said that business community should not pay attention towards the baseless rumors regarding delay in completion of Metro Bus Project. He said that project will be completed by 30th January 2015 at every cost. “Project was initially supposed to be completed by 31st December 2014 but due to Sit in pace of work on the said project is badly affected. Punjab government is thankful of the Rawalpindi Chamber and all the traders for their support and patience”, he said.
The Commissioner said that government is fully aware of the problems face by the business community and every possible measure will be taken to complete the project on time. He was exchanging these views with the President Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) Syed Asad Mashadi during his visit to Chamber on Friday.
Commissioner Zahid Saeed said that government is committed to complete it in given deadline. He said that recent political crisis affected the speed of construction of said project but we will complete it by 30th January. He appreciated the cooperation of Rawalpindi Chamber in establishment of said project and ensured his full cooperation in this regard.
Speaking on the occasion president RCCI Syed Asad Mashadi said that Business Community and Citizens of Rawalpindi were facing immense problem due to construction of Metro Bus Project. He said that business activities on Murree Road have almost been destroyed owing to the said project and business community is facing huge financial loss and any possible delay can badly affect the economic uplift of the region. He demanded of the commissioner to complete the construction work in time.
President RCCI said that Metro Bus System for Rawalpindi was the utmost demand of Rawalpindi Chamber and Chamber and it appreciates Chief Minister’s vision to establish MBS in Rawalpindi in one year time. He said that Chamber facilitated Punjab government and resolved every hurdle which could affect this mega project. He also showed concerns over the deteriorating law & order situation of the city, shortage of parking plazas in business centers & encroachments and asked the Commissioner to resolve the issues at earliest.
