ISLAMABAD (DNA) : The Metro bus project in Rawalpindi and Islamabad may not be completed on time disclosed the Chief Commissioner office sources on Monday.
According to details the project was to be completed by 31 December 2014 however due to rains and dharnas, the project may now take a little longer.
Sources say, recent heavy rains uprooted infrastructure and excavated areas was filled with water. The project staff had to undergo a great deal of difficulties in removing water from the areas.
In some areas water is still present and situation may aggravate if more rains lash the twin cities as predicted by the Metrological department.
The chief minister Punjab has also directed the concerned authorities to complete the project as soon as possible. Sources say the administration is quite aware of the problems being faced by the resident due to the project. They say all out efforts are being made to facilitate the affected people and minimize adverse affects.
