ISLAMABAD (INP): Minister of the State for Petroleum and Natural Resources, Jam Kamal Khan has directed Managing Director (MD) Sui Northern Gas Pipelines (SNGPL) to furnish their complete load management plan with details of bulk consumers of process industry, having consumption above 5 MMCFD.
He issued these directives while chairing a meeting held here on Monday to discuss annual and procedural maintenance of Qadirpur gas field. He directed that any curtailment as a result of annual maintenance shall be published for the information of consumer and general public. After the receipt of SNGPL’s plan, ministry will respond/review the matter.
MD SNGPL briefed about the current scenario of gas availability and its distribution. Annual and procedural maintenance of Qadirpur gas field was also discussed. He also informed that in the view of the ongoing annual turned around, low gas pressure would be faced in some areas. In the meeting different scenarios were discussed and the Minister of State instructed MD to make sure that load management plan for upcoming winter shall be prepared well in time before the advent of the season and all efforts be made for the best utilization of gas within all sectors especially the domestic and small scale industry.
The meeting was attended by the Secretary Petroleum, Additional Secretary, DG Gas, MD SSGC and MD SNGPL. The next meeting shall be convened soon to review the proposed plan.
