PESHAWAR: Religious leader Maulana Ismail Darvesh was gunned down with his guard at the Phandu area of the metropolis on Thursday night.
According to police, leader of a religious party along with a police official was going home when some unidentified gunmen on motorbike sprayed bullets at his car, critically injuring both of them.
A spokesperson of Lady Reading Hospital said the victims were rushed to Lady Reading Hospital where they succumbed to their wounds during treatment.
Police have cordoned off the area after the incident. However, the attackers managed to escape from the scene. INP
