Secruity-Guard-Mardan

Web Desk: A security guard at the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) office in Mardan embraced martyrdom while stopping the suicide bomber from entering the NADRA office, saving dozens of life in the process.  According to media reports there was a scuffle between the security guard Pervez and the suicide bomber the bomber eventually blew himself as Pervez hugged him in order to stop him from entering the premises.

According to Rescue 1122 sources that rushed to the site of the attack at least 21 people were killed in the blast which took place at a time the office was crowded with people lining up to make applications for National Identity Cards (NIC). The death toll could have been a lot higher had the brave security guard not intervened.

President Mamnoon Hussain, Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan have condemned the blast and expressed sympathies with the bereaved families.
