KARACHI, Sep 30 (NNI): The man, who blew whistle on the sordid VIP culture in the country, has been sacked from job by his company that sent him home without assigning any reason.
Arjumand Azhar became the bellwether of change by standing up to VIP culture and by videotaping the politicians who caused a PIA flight to be delayed.
Succumbing to the alleged political pressure, the private courier company dismissed Arjumand from his job.
Disillusioned with the prevalent festering status-quo in the country, Arjumand is of the view that that a common man is absolutely a worthless non-entity in the present system; hence, youth will have to join hands to metamorphose this system.
Azhar, whose video is spearheading an awareness campaign countrywide against the VIP culture, nurtures hope that the task that he initiated, will be taken up by millions of other Pakistanis, now.
It should be mentioned here that Rehman A. Malik of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Dr. Ramesh Kumar of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), had to miss the Karachi-Islamabad flight on protest by passengers including Arjumand.
Arjumand filmed the enthused protest against the VIP culture on board PK-370 on September 16, that culminated when Malik and Kumar were off loaded.
It is pertinent to note here that Arjumand was the general manager of a multinational courier and logistics company. It is quite possible that his termination is linked to September 16 off loading of the two parliamentarians on board PK-370 flight.
However, his former employers said on social media that the sacking have nothing to do with the incidents aboard that flight.
