LHC orders appointment of permanent Governor of Punjab till May 7

LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) on Tuesday ordered the Punjab government to appoint permanent Governor of the province till May 07.

During the hearing of Governor Punjab appointment case, petitioner Azhar Siddiqui told the court that the government is violating constitution by not appointing permanent governor on which Deputy Attorney General informed the court that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is busy in sorting out Yemen situation due to which Chief Minister of Punjab Shahbaz Sharif was unable to pursue the matter.

Subsequently, the court warned of summoning Secretary Cabinet Division if government failed to appoint governor Punjab till May 07. INP
