LAYYAH: A head mistress of a primary school in Layyah while violating the child rights forced the students to work with labors at an under construction part in the school.
The principal of Government Girls Primary School in Kharal Azeem Yousafwala commanded the school girls to assist laborers in the work. The students got their hands injured by picking up the bricks.
It is pertinent to mention here that two rooms of the school are under construction under the non-salary budget allotted by government of Punjab.
Earlier, a scandal of forced child labor in the onion fields of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader has also been surfaced.
Pakistan needs to take immediate measures to stabilize growing budget pressures and to raise interest rates to contain rising inflation, the International Monetary Fund warned.
Pakistan spends less than 2 percent of its gross domestic product on education, which translates into a lack of skills amongst the younger population, pushing them onto the street in search of work.
Economic pressures are also forcing young people to leave home in search of work. In recent months, the state has been gripped by rumors of a possible military coup and the ongoing tussle between the Supreme Court and the government is preoccupying the leadership.
With little government protection, children keep falling into the same vicious circle of exploitation. NNI
