ISLAMABAD: Shehryar Afridi, the leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), is being kept in a death cell at Adiala Jail.
This information was disclosed by the attorney Sher Afzal Marwat on Monday at the Islamabad High Court during the hearing of Afridi’s bail request.
Afridi’s declining health was brought up by the attorney, who also revealed that one of the PTI leader’s arms was crippled.
Afridi should be moved to an A-class prison, according to advocate Marwat’s request that the court compel authorities to do.
He recommended that his client, who has a master’s degree, be held behind bars.
The hearing was then postponed after the judge instructed jail officials to deliver Afridi’s medical report by June 2.
Afridi’s brother had petitioned for his release on bail and improved medical care while inside, and that plea was the basis for the decision.
