Pakistan after the dramatic and shocking defeat in 3rd Test against England would be looking forward to find best team combination in order to fix flaws of batting and bowling.
In Edgbaston Pakistan team had upper hand by winning most of the sessions of first two days of play. They were doing pretty well until the last session of day four when Moeen Ali and Bairstow took the game away from reach of Pakistan by scoring rapid 150-run partnership. Despite of pressure of huge target and batting on day five pitch, Pakistan could have easily managed to draw the match. But team proved tag of inconsistency associated with Pakistan right and batting line crumbled at a time when match was heading towards a straight-forward draw. They were in comfortable position of 124-3 with less than 37 overs to go in the day, but they lost four major wickets for just one run in 22 balls to throw away the match. Eventually, England recorded an empathic 141-run victory to get an unassailable 2-1 lead in the four-match series.
Senior batsmen let the team down, Hafeez and Younis Khan really disappointed in the whole series. Bench strength should be tested and opportunity should be given to new players. Four-bowler attack is also not doing well either so there is need to somehow include another bowling option in the team.
4th Test match is the last opportunity in the series to make memories of it pleasant. Team management and coach need to talk with players to make them mentally strong ahead of this crucial game.
