While Independents are on third position with 99 seats of district councils and Tehsil councils. Pakistan Muslim League–Nawaz (PML-N) won 67 seats while Jamaat Islami (JI) and Jamiat Ulema Islam – Fazl (JUI-F) have 65 and 62 seats respectively. PPPP won 24 and Qaumi Watan Party 12.
According to the results, PTI is leading in Peshawar, Nowshehra, Charsadda, Kohat and Swat while JI is leading in Chitral and Dir. PML-N is leading in Mansehra and Shangla districts. In KP, the District Returning Officers have started compilation of results of local government polls.
There were 84,420 candidates in the run for 41,762 seats throughout the province. However, at least 14 people lost their lives in the election-related violence throughout the polling day. FAFEN claims that polling started late at 13% of the polling stations due to poor administration. NNI
