ISLAMABAD: Troublesome times are ahead in the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa if sources are to be believed with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan considering sacking Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak over what sources call the ‘lack of performance’ of Pervez Khattak.
Addressing a rally in Azad Kashmir’s Bhimber, Imran had admitted that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government could not deliver as the party had planned to. Sources privy to the matter have revealed that Imran’s public criticism of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government’s lack of performance has come after he had already taken the decision to sack Pervez Khattak.
However, it has to be mentioned here that Pervez Khattak still has support within the party and many there is resentment among senior party leaders over Imran’s plan to sack Khattak. When contacted to comment on the latest situation a party leader rejected the impression that Khattak will be shown the door. The party is yet to issue a public statement to deny the rumours circulating in the capital of Pervez Khattak’s sacking. The silence on part of the party is not only damaging the party’s reputation in the province but has also caused resentment among the party.
