ISLAMABAD: Kashmiris living on both sides of Line of Control and abroad will observe Black Day today to condemn the illegal landing of the Indian forces for occupation of Jammu and Kashmir.
It was on this day in 1947 that Indian forces invaded Kashmir by landing its forces in Srinagar violating the partition plan of subcontinent.
In Azad Kashmir, protest rallies and demonstrations will be held at all Districts and Tehsil headquarters to mark the day.
In Muzaffarabad, a protest demonstration will be held under the auspices of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Cell.
Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan, Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs Chaudhary Barjees Tahir, Former AJK Prime Ministers, representatives of All Parties Hurriyat Conference and members of social, political and lawyers’ organizations will attend the protest demonstration.
The participants of the demonstration would hold a rally that would march up to UN Observer Mission to hand over a protest memorandum.
Azad Jammu and Kashmir President Muhammad Masood Khan and Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan in their separate messages on the eve of Black Day said that India is claiming to be the champion of democracy but its forces are committing gross human rights violation in held valley.
They said by observing Black Day, Kashmiris would give a strong message to world that they will never accept Indian rule on their motherland.
In Occupied Kashmir, the day will be marked by a complete shutdown and rallies will be held in different world capitals on the call of the joint Hurriyet leadership.
