Karachi terror plot foiled as cache of explosives recovered

KARACHI: The law enforcement agencies on Friday foiled a massive terror plan of inflicting huge devastation on the metropolis by recovering 30-kilogram explosives from an abandoned house in Baldia Ittehad Town.

Moving on a piece of information gathered from an arrested operative of a banned outfit, the security forces conducted a raid on a derelict house located in Baldia Ittehad Town and took into custody a cache of 30-kg explosive material.

Concealed in two sacks, the commercial explosive material comprises 160 rods. The experts of bomb disposal squad are of the view that at least 30 bombs could be made out of this material.

Later, the BDS officials defused the explosives.

In another search operation conducted by Rangers in Site Area and North Karachi where at least four suspected terrorists of banned outfit were arrested.

Ranger sources said that arms and ammunition were also recovered from their possession.
