KARACHI: The police on Wednesday killed two target killers and arrested at least ten criminals including seven militants belonging to banned outfits in different operations.
According to the details, the police carried out a raid on a hideout along with an arrested criminal Noorullah. The criminals opened fire on the security personnel and killed Noorullah. The police returned the fire and killed one of the miscreants.
Senior Superintendent of Police Malir (SSP) said that the killed criminal was involved in the target killings of several police personnel and extortion.
Separately, the police arrested as many as seven militants belonging to banned outfit Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in an operation in Shah Lateef Town. The police seized two rifles, seven grenades and at least five pistols.
In another operation, the police opened fire on as many as two miscreants in Korangi Industrial area and arrested them in injured condition. According to the police, both the criminals were involved in several cases of street crime and robberies. Moreover, the police arrested one culprit in an operation in Baloch Colony. At least two accomplices escaped the raid and absconded.
In a separate incident, a policeman was wounded by firing in Korangi’s Ibrahim Hyderi area. The injured cop was taken to the hospital, but he succumbed to his wounds during treatment.
Meanwhile, a policeman belonging to the anti-corruption force was wounded in firing near Water Pump Chowrangi area.
The policeman, Iqbal Alam, was being treated for the gunshot wound at a hospital.
