<strong></strong>ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Judicial Commission (JC) is scheduled to hold open court on Thursday (today) to investigate the matter of alleged rigging in the General Elections 2013. The parliamentary parties’ submitted evidences of alleged rigging in the Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP) on Wednesday during first hearing of the Judicial Commission. During hearing the Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) and Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) presented proof to the commission. PPP leader Latif Khosa told reporters outside the Supreme Court that written objections were submitted to the commission. The JI delegation which submitted proof on behalf of the party included Liaqat Baloch, Mian Aslam, Naeem-ul-Rehman and Haroon Rasheed. The three member commission headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Nasirul Mulk comprises Justice Amir Hani Muslim and Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan. Hamid Ali has been appointed as the commission's secretary. The first hearing of the commission in the open court will take place on April 16 (today). A notification issued by the Supreme Court during the first meeting of the commission stated that any person can submit proof pertaining to election rigging by April 15 to the Secretary Commission. Earlier, the first meeting of the judicial commission headed by acting Justice Chief Justice (CJ) Nasirul Mulk was held on April 9. The bench comprised of Justice Amir Hani Muslim and Justice Ijaz Afzal. All the political parties were urged to submit their recommendations until April 15. Awami National Party (ANP) submitted the record of the General Elections 2013 from Sindh and Balochistan to the commission. ANP also provided the commission with first information reports (FIRs) of rigging and terrorist activities. The party maintained that the members could have won at least ten to twelve seats in the National Assembly (NA) while at least 35 General seats from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) if there was no rigging. Former (CJ) Iftikhar Muhammad and Muhajir Qaumi Movement have also submitted pleas to become parties in the matter to be probed by the commission. <strong>INP</strong>
