SARGODHA: Following the directions of Chief Justice Lahore High Court, Sessions Judge and anti-terrorism court judge on Friday visited District Jail Sargodha and met Member National Assembly (MNA) Jamshed Dasti.
The judges also reviewed the progress on provision of facilities to the legislator, while the jail authorities have provided B-class facilities to the lawmaker.
Meanwhile, the sisters and mother of Jamshed Dasti have also visited him in jail.
On the other hand, dozens of women from the constituency of the Member National Assembly (MNA) held a protest demonstration against the arrest of Jamshed Dasti. The agitating women holding banners and placards chanted anti-government slogans. The protesting women demanded the government to end false cases against Dasti and release him. A medical report of Member National Assembly (MNA) Jamshed Dasti has found no visible marks of violence, however, expert advise has been sought from a cardiologist, physician and dental surgeon on complaints of chest pain, epigestrim and toothache.
A medical board was constituted to examine Jamshed Dasti after the MNA alleged that he was being tortured in jail. Dasti was imprisoned for forcefully opening a canal gate and speaking to the media outside an anti-terrorism court claimed he was being tortured and his barrack had scorpions crawling around.
